Board Meeting
August 4th, 2016
The August 4th meeting was called to order at Noon by Phil Teller
Attendees were Phil Teller, Cliff Dehle, Dave Blanck, Dave Keeley, Nicole McCraw, and Tiffany Sears
Tiffany Sears read the minutes for the July 21st general meeting. Dave Blanck motioned to approve and Dave Keeley seconded. The motion was carried.
President’s report-
Phil Teller reports that he had attended the memorial service for Doll Linten (The Grouch founder) on behalf of Chamber.
Phil reports that the business cards have been ordered and should be here on the tenth of this month.
Phil reports that he has reached out to Kettle Falls clinic requesting that they join Chamber. 16+ Providence employees  will now be Chamber members.
Vice President’s report-
Dave Blanck reports that he also attended the memorial of Doll Linten, which made use of the Crossroad’s Stage. He will be working with Tiffany Sears to bring in more paying members. He would like an improved membership letter, new billboards and more advertizing of the Crossroad’s Stage.
Secretary’s report-
Tiffany Sears reports that she has looked further into the way a Pokemon tournament functioned and how one could be used to bring attention and funds to Chamber. Tiffany briefly describes the process of documenting Pokemon before and after the Tournament and how the winner would be the one with the most progress and would receive some sort of prize. Phil asks about the number and placement of the Pokestops and Gyms. Tiffany will prepare a local map showing these locations. Phil presents the idea of a sort of scavenger hunt situation in which players would complete a tour of the down ending at the Visitor’s Center. Upon completing the challenge they could receive a Kettle Falls pin. He also asks whether or not additional Pokestops can be registered. Tiffany will continue to look into this.

Events and entertainment-
The Camp & Jam by TriCounty Music is in 2 1/2 weeks. They will need insurance for this event which they will pay $215 to Chamber for. Dave Blanck motions to approve, Nicole seconded, and the motion was carried. Phil would like to offer them an option of either paying a small extra fee or allowing Chamber to sell during this event. In the future, Phil would like to charge an additional 20-50% for events. Dave Blanck states that temporary aluminum stages cost about $8000, and that $5000 should be a fair price for use of the Crossroad’s Stage.
Art report-
Nicole McCraw reports that Tiffany Sears is officially on the schedule. Tiffany is working on building the Kettle Falls Arts page on Facebook, promoting Ed Broberg. She also states that Ed Broberg is still waiting for a phone call from Phil Teller to negotiate the rat cards. Phil acknowledges and will call soon to work out the details. Nicole also reports that she has met with the Tribal Belly Dancers to discuss the Thrill Around the World on October 29th, which she would like Chamber to be a part of. She would like to organize a Zombie Prom and a pub crawl ending in Colville for their Festival of Lights. Nicole also suggested adding a shop to the Chamber web page.

General Meeting  

June 16, 2016


The KFACC General Meeting was called to order at 6:32pm by Phil Teller, President.


Attendees: Cliff Dehle, Andrea Hedrick, Nicole McCraw, Lauri McKean, Katie Pike, Sandy Sattler, Linda Teller, and Phil Teller.


The Minutes from the June 1st, 2016 Board meeting were read by Linda Teller.  The minutes were approved as presented.


President’s report: New phone system waiting on Radio Shack, working on business cards, prep for How Weird is Your Ride event at T&C Days, brochure for Kettle Falls: report by Nicole McCraw:

Artist submissions presented and reviewed.  Concensus was to go with Ed Broberg (motion by Nicole, seconded by Lauri), but only with the bare minimum of his package options.  Katie recommended a ⅓ flier (rack card- motion by Lauri, seconded by Linda).


VP report: In absentia


Secretary report: Joy has resigned as secretary, Linda filling in temporarily


Treasurer reported:  Operating Account $1574.78.  Blues Festival account $3073; Festival of Neighbors account $1052.74; Savings account $4197.52.  Grouch Run lost money (-$189).  Grouch competition raised $1204.86.  Joy is possibly volunteering to run Grouch next year.


Tech & Social report:  emails set up and emailed board members to connect.  Working on website.


Events & Entertainment: Blues Festival starts tomorrow (June 17th)


Arts Committee:

Thanks to Lauri for Silverado article.  NPS does “artist in residence”, can we do that in the Visitors Center?  Maybe ask NPS artist to do an art lecture free to Chamber members?  Business owner complaint about the Meyers Falls Market kiosk being only for members.

General Meeting



Meeting called to order by President at 6:29pm.


Those in attendance were Linda Teller, Dave Blanc, Sandy Sattler, Phil Teller, Nicole McCraw, and Joy Matheson, Christina & Juergen Uphaus.


The minutes of the April 7, 206 meeting were read and approved.




  • Research for business cards, long distance phone service in the Information Center, and tri-fold brochures is underway.
  • The rules for HOW WEIRD IS YOUR RIDE were read.  Phil Teller moved to approve, Sandy Sattler seconded, and the vote was to approve with attention to suggested corrections and changes.
  • The president would like to make Committee Chairs “Board Members at Large.”


Vice President:

  • Noted that Recruitment and Sponsorship is behind at this time.

Treasurer:  Submitted to Secretary to be presented at meeting.

    • Contacts were provided and have been called


  • Tech & Social Media Committee, Linda Teller
    • Regarding website and email:  Linda Teller proposed the KF Area Chamber of Commerce do business with Secure Webs, a local company, for a website and email accounts for board positions at the cost of $120 a year.  The proposal was seconded by Lauri McKean and carried.  Linda will continue to set that up with the company.
    • Lindsay, the current Facebook page Admin for KFACC, has been contacted.  It was suggested that Dave Keeley act as Liaison with Lindsay.
  • Promotions & Marketing Committee, Phil Teller
    • Business cards available for $8/100 cards
    • Long Distance Phone Service for the Information Center available from Verizon Wireless for $20/month
    • A request from Spokane Area Good Roads Association to write a letter in support of naming Highway 395 “Tom Foley Memorial Highway” was read and discussed.  Phil made a motion to write a letter, Joy seconded the motion. The vote was 3 for to 5 against writing.


  • Events & Entertainment Committee, Dave Blanc
    • Town & Country Days is expanding, with new events and new volunteers
    • The Crossroads State is coming to completion and will be ready for festivals this summer.
    • We would like to encourage all the local groups to work together in this area.


  • City Arts Committee, Nicole McCraw
    • Nicole McCraw was nominated to Chair this committee.  Joy seconded the motion, there was some discussion about what the committee entails, and then the motion carried.
    • It was suggested that a calendar of events for our area and for the region be put together.


New Business:

  • Long Distance Phone Service for the Information Center, research dissatisfaction clause on two year contract and tabled until next meeting.
  • There are 14 volunteers in the Information Center, now new members of KFACC.  Cliff Dehle will supply a list of names.
  • Theme discussion for business cards and other Chamber materials tabled until next meeting.
  • Fundraising and money came up in several different ways
    • New Members
    • Possible fundraising events
    • A Chamber booth at Town & Country Days, selling Kettle Falls gear, memberships, and free information.  Cliff will give us an idea of inventory and what to reorder.  Linda Teller volunteered to man the booth.
  • The meeting schedule will return to 1st Thursday at Noon and 3rd Thursday at 630pm.

At 745pm Joy Matheson motioned to adjourn, Sandy Sattler seconded the motion, and Phil Teller adjourned this meeting.

Meeting Minutes – May 19, 2016

Kettle Falls Area Chamber of Commerce

General Meeting  

May 19, 2016


The KFACC General Meeting was called to order at 642pm by Phi Teller, President.


Attendees were Dave Blanck, Cliff Dehle, Nicole McCraw, Lauri McKean, Linda Teller, Joy Matheson, Katie Pike, and Phil Teller.


Guest Speaker, Barry Lamont, from Tri-County Economic Development District, gave a presentation about what TEDD does and what TEDD may be able to do for KFACC.


The Minutes from the May 5, 2016 Board meeting were read.  Linda Teller motioned for approval and Nicole McCraw seconded.  The minutes were approved as presented.


There was no reports from President, Vice President, or Secretary.


Treasurer reported:  Operating Account $2163.84.  $1000.00 transferred from saving for bills and gift shop supplies and merchandise.  Blues Festival account $2718.16; Festival of Neighbors account $1052.74; Savings account $4197.53.


Katie Pike gave a brief report from the City Council meeting.  She also promoted the Pie and Book Sale, June 4, 10-3pm, at the Library, Town & Country Days.


City Arts Committee, Nicole McCraw, Chair, reported that she gave the Treasurer $103.03 raised for Arts committee.  She has recruited five new Chamber members.  She submitted four letters of intent for the tri-fold brochure.  These will be reviewed for the next meeting and chosen artists will be required to submit and sketch and bid by June 30th.


Tech & Social Media Committee, Linda Teller, Chair, reported that the website is under construction, email for Board positions have been set up and she will send out links and instructions soon.


Beautification Committee, Joy Matheson, Chair reported that the barrels have been placed on Meyers Street and all have been adopted.  Stephanie Floyd, owner of the quilt and sewing shop, will be doing some extra work to clean up and decorate an empty area between her shop and the salon.  The weeding still needs done around the Information Center.


Events & Entertainment, Dave Blanck, Chair reported that there is increasing interest in the Crossroads Stage as it comes to completion.  Rental fees and reservations can be made through the City.  He also reports that regional Boy Scouts will be bringing activities to TCD.

Minutes of Meeting

March 17, 2016


The Regular meeting of the Kettle Falls Chamber of Commerce was called to order by Dave Blanc at 12pm at Northern Ales.


Those in attendance were Dave Blanc, Dave Keeley, Keith Wilder, Lauri McKean, Cliff Dehele, Sandy Sattler, Donna Fritz, Joy Morningmoon Matheson, Britta Chamers,  Phil Teller, Linda Teller, Daisy Prongrakthai, Gabriel Cruden, and Andrea Hedrick. Guests included Miss Kettle Falls Contestants and Leader: Bailey Robertson, Morgan Kihelic, Zarah Creden, Emma HIlls, Lorelei Hilbret, and Melody Young.


The Minutes from the March 3, 2016 meeting were read and approved.


The Miss Kettle Falls group gave brief introductions and a short presentation and were presented with $500 from the Kettle Falls Chamber of Commerce.




The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Andrea Hedrick.  Chamber funds include $1038.35 in Checking, $5197.00 in Savings and $1052.47 in Festival of Neighbors account.


Dave Keeley recognized Dave Blanc for his contribution as acting President through the last year.


Open elections were held for board positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  All votes were unanimous.

Elections then closed.


Lauri McKean and Linda Teller, volunteers, were recognized for creating the new ‘Kettle Connects’ Chamber newsletter; promoting new businesses and working with other local publications for promotion of Kettle Falls businesses.




Dave Keeley reported that the Chamber must separate itself from the City of Kettle Falls.  Critical issues in this matter include a new website for the Chamber, agreement and payment on terms of use for the Information Center.  Those terms include cleaning costs, paying phone and electric bills.


Andrea Hedrick will be assuming the position of Treasurer for Town & Country Days beginning immediately.  She will become a signer on the bank account for that event.  Sandy Sattler will be a cosigner on the bank account.  Past signees will be removed from the account; Lori McComb and Kerri Slater.
